The round eyes usually speak for docile, non venomous snakes. We have aesculapian and whipsnakes living around the house and get on very well. They keep the mice population low, thankfully, but it can happen that they eat more appreciated creatures too, but that's nature. I bet it blends in very well with the grass, not so much with bare earth.
