What is in Bloom in Kitchener, Ontario

Last week I had a post on what was in bloom in Victoria, British Columbia. I thought I would do the same thing for Kitchener, Ontario this week. Nothing is yet in bloom. These pictures give you an idea of the kind of winter much of North America is having.

Table in a garden

Birdbath
Cars in a driveway

More cars in a driveway

And to finish with, some steps just after the snow was shoveled off for the third time in 24 hours. It must be said, however, that this is not a typical winter. It has been many years since we have had this much snow.

Except for a few short breaks, last week the Bruce Peninsula (where Roche Fleurie is) was cut off from the rest of the world for a week as the snow removal crews were not able to cope. Here is an article about it :

  1. I wondered what I would find in bloom in Kitchener, Ontario, when I opened your post. Snowdrops, of course.

  2. Welcome back to our world! Bet we have more snow than you do down there! And glad you weren't trapped up north.

  3. This looks like my kind of winter. I have table in the back yard with a similar pile of snow on it.

  7. Looks like you may have a bit more snow than we do, but not too much more.

  8. Beautiful, but I'm glad I'm not there. I no longer feel the need for snow in my life! As for this being not a typical winter - well, what is "typical," after all?

  9. I did the same, Alain. I had shoveled the snow in my garden last weekend. Here is the typical winter, as always. Nice photos!

  10. Winter Wonderland here too. At least the plants are well-protected from the biting cold with their layer of snow!

  11. Well, that looks just delightful, Alain. We've a pineapple express blowing in from Hawaii this week so it's rain and then for a change, more rain. At least we don't have to shovel it!
